Residential Stair Structural Design & Vibration Analysis

Project Details
This project involved in-depth structural analysis for strength, stiffness and dynamic response of a steel framed stair and walkways to help a local artist create an inspiring and dramatic space for the homeowners. The project also included extensive design of structural modifications to the home to create lofted, light filled spaces.
Commercial High Rise Tenant Fit Out and Structural Modifications

Project Details
OAK collaborated with the architect, interior designer, and other design team members to investigate and evaluate building capacity and to detail new structure to modify the arcade area of a downtown high rise on Rittenhouse Square from a pedestrian walkway to an outdoor dining area.
Industrial Equipment Support

Project Details
OAK has worked with several manufacturing facilities and process engineers to design new steel supports and modifications to existing framing to support the installation of new scrubbers and other processing equipment.
Infrastructure

Project Details
This design-build project involved designing modifications to existing concrete tanks at a waste water treatment facility to support processing of industrial waste. The design included watertight concrete foundations and walls following the requirements of ACI 350. OAK used isometric details on the contract documents to demonstrate continuity of waterstops through complex concrete joints. The team iterated rapidly through multiple tank configurations to find the optimal design.
Rooftop Equipment

Project Details
OAK conducted multiple site visits to investigate failing and corroded steel supporting an existing cooling tower in an occupied building. Shoring was designed to support the weight of the towers while repairs were made. OAK also provided specifications for the protection of the steel that met the owner's expectations for service life & cost.
Commercial Building Assessment

Project Details
OAK has been involved in many assessments of commercial buildings to investigate deterioration or explore changes to the structure. OAK can provide repair and reinforcement design so the structure is adequate for the intended use.
